Limo & Transport for Stakes Day

The relaxed Saturday to close the carnival — an easy arrival and an easy trip home.

Last Saturday of Cup Week — Saturday 7 November 2026

Stakes Day — Family Day — is the gentlest day of the four. The crowd is smaller, the mood is a wind-down rather than a big-occasion push, and the day is often as much about a long lunch with friends or family as it is about the racing. A chauffeured car keeps it that way: no scramble for a car park, no dividing the group between drivers who can and cannot drink, and a car waiting when the day has run its course.

An easier day than the Cup

The Saturday crowd at Stakes Day is a fraction of Cup Day, and the roads around Flemington move accordingly. The value of a car here is less about beating gridlock and more about the group staying together and everyone being able to enjoy the day — including a drink at lunch — without one person nominated as the sober driver.

For families, the car also means the kids are not being marched to a distant car park at the end of a long day.

Long lunch, easy exit

A lot of Stakes Day bookings are built around a lunch reservation before or after the track. We plan the day around that — drop for lunch, on to Flemington, then a relaxed pickup once you have had enough, with no pressure to leave on anyone else's timetable.

The right car

For a group of friends closing out the carnival, a Hummer or stretch limousine keeps it social. For a family group, the Mercedes people-mover-style comfort of the executive vehicles, or the classic cars for a smaller party, suit the calmer mood of the day.

Stakes Day Transport FAQs

Is Stakes Day easier to get to than Melbourne Cup?

Much easier — the Saturday crowd is a fraction of Cup Day and the roads around Flemington move far more freely. The car is mostly about the group staying together and everyone being able to relax.

Can you work the booking around a lunch?

Yes — a lot of Stakes Day plans are built around a long lunch before or after the races. We drop for lunch, run you to Flemington, and pick up when you are ready.

Do you still need to book ahead for Stakes Day?

It is the quietest of the four carnival days for us, but the Saturday still fills up — book two to four weeks ahead to be safe, more if you want a specific vehicle.
