The people behind the work
RSPCA Victoria has been standing up for animals since the very first RSPCA meeting in Australia was held right here in Melbourne, in 1871. Today it's a community-based charity with one goal: to end cruelty to all animals.
That work happens because so many people give their time, skill and heart to it — inspectors, vets, shelter teams, foster carers and more than 1,500 volunteers. More than 90% of RSPCA Victoria's funding comes from the Victorian community, and we want to help them as much as we can.
