Limo Hire Cost Guide

How Much Does Limo Hire Cost in Melbourne?

What changes the price, what should be included, and how to see your exact figure in under a minute.

There is no single price for "a limo" in Melbourne — the total depends on which car, for how long, on which day, and what the night involves. Rather than quote a range that might not apply to you, this guide explains what actually moves the price, what a fair quote should include, and how to keep the cost down. When you are ready, our booking form checks the calendar live and, for many cars and dates, shows your exact fixed price on the spot.

The five things that set the price

The car. A 15-seat stretch Hummer, the 18-seat Black Hummer 6x6, a Rolls Royce Tribute and the Signature stretch limousine are all priced differently — bigger and rarer cars cost more per hour.

How long you need it. Hire is by the hour, with a one-hour minimum. The first hour costs the most because it covers getting the car and chauffeur to you; each extra hour after that costs less, so a longer booking usually works out better value per hour.

The day of the week. Saturdays are the busiest day of the week, and a Monday-to-Wednesday booking often comes in lower outside the peak season. If your date is flexible, try a weekday in the booking form and compare.

The occasion. School formals usually run as a set one-hour package — pickups, photos and the arrival — rather than an open hourly booking. Weddings typically need a few hours to cover the ceremony, photos and reception.

The run itself. Several pickups, a photo stop and a second leg after the event all add time. Telling us the plan up front means the price you see covers the whole night.

What a fair quote should include

A good limo price is a single fixed total, not a meter. It should include the chauffeur, fuel and tolls, and the waiting time between stops — so the price does not climb while you are at dinner or having photos taken. At Mayfair, BYO ice and glassware are supplied for passengers 18 and over, and wedding cars come dressed with ribbon and a red carpet.

Before you pay anyone, check the quote names the exact car, the number of hours, the pickup addresses and the total — and that the company owns the car. Brokers who pass the job to whoever is free on the day are where "similar vehicle" substitutions come from.

Splitting the cost per person

A stretch Hummer is a group booking, so the real question is the cost per person. Split across 15 friends for a formal or a hens night, the share is often comparable to a nice dinner out — and it replaces the rideshares, the parking and the waiting outside at the end of the night. For formals, our instant price even shows the per-person share automatically.

For a very big group, one convoy of two or three Hummers can still work out cheaper per person than splitting into smaller cars — see limo hire for large groups.

Five ways to keep the cost down

Pick a weekday if you can. Book the hours you need, not a buffer you will not use — plan the run with us instead. Fill the seats, so the per-person share drops. Choose the right car for the group size rather than the biggest one. And book early for formals, weddings and race days, when the cars you want go first.

It depends on the car, the number of hours, the day and the run. The quickest way to know is our booking form, which shows the exact fixed price on the spot for many cars and dates.

Is limo hire charged by the hour?

Yes, with a one-hour minimum. Each extra hour costs less than the first, so longer bookings are better value per hour.

Often, yes — Monday to Wednesday bookings can come in lower outside the peak season. Try a weekday date in the booking form to compare.

What is included in the price?

The chauffeur, fuel, tolls and the waiting time between stops, as one fixed total. BYO ice and glassware are supplied for passengers 18 and over, and wedding cars come with ribbon and a red carpet.

Do I pay a deposit?

Yes — a deposit secures your car and date, and the balance is paid on the day. You can pay the deposit online by card, Apple Pay or Afterpay.

How much is a school formal limo per person?

It depends on the car and the group size. For formals, our instant price shows the per-person share automatically, so the group can see exactly what each student pays.
