The logistics are simple and unforgiving: there is essentially one road down the Peninsula, it is peak summer holiday traffic, the event site has limited and expensive parking, and it is a long way to drive home after a day in the sun with a glass in hand. The Nepean Highway and Point Nepean Road carry every car heading to Portsea, in the middle of the summer holiday peak.
