AAMI Park — the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium — holds 30,000 for Melbourne Victory and City, Melbourne Storm, Super Rugby, Wallabies and Socceroos internationals, and the occasional concert. It sits in the Olympic Park precinct beside the MCG, Rod Laver and John Cain Arena, and on a big night the whole precinct moves at once. AAMI Park is boxed in by the rail line, Olympic Boulevard and Batman Avenue, and it often has an event on at the same time as the MCG or the tennis. We drop from the Olympic Boulevard side and set the pickup back toward Swan Street or Rod Laver, away from the immediate stadium exit and the station flows.
Match day and concert night
For a group of Storm or Victory supporters, or a corporate box, the car handles the pre-match run and the after — a bar in Richmond or Swan Street rather than a slow train. For a concert, the same applies with the night running longer.
