How early to book depends on the occasion and the date. Weekends in peak season are the constraint — those are the slots that fill first. Here is a rough guide.
Weddings
For a Saturday in peak wedding season, roughly October to March, three to six months ahead is sensible and popular dates go earlier. Outside peak season and midweek, a couple of months is usually enough.
School formals
Formal season is short and the dates cluster on Fridays and Saturdays, so the vehicles go months ahead. Book as soon as your school confirms the date and you have the group together.
Hens and bucks nights
These are usually planned around the wedding date, so you often have a long runway — use it. The pink Hummer and the larger vehicles are the first to go on Saturdays.
Corporate and airport transfers
Shorter notice is fine for a single transfer or a weekday corporate booking — often a week or two. For a group event or something tied to a conference or a game, book earlier.
If your date is close
Call anyway. Because we run our own fleet, we know exactly what is free, and there is often a vehicle available even at short notice — particularly midweek or for smaller vehicles. The worst case is a no, and it takes two minutes to find out.
Common Questions
Can I book a limo at short notice in Melbourne?
Often, yes — especially midweek, for smaller vehicles, or outside peak season. Call us with your date and we will tell you straight away what is available.
What is the busiest time of year for limo hire?
Saturdays through wedding and formal season, plus New Year’s Eve and the spring racing carnival. Those dates book out furthest ahead.
