Which Limo to Hire for Your Occasion

Which Limo to Hire for Your Occasion

The right limousine depends on three things: how many people are travelling, the tone of the event, and how much of a statement you want to make arriving. Here is how those play out across the occasions we cover most often in Melbourne.

Weddings

Weddings usually go one of two directions. The first is timeless elegance — a Rolls Royce Tribute or a 1962 Cadillac DeVille for the bride and groom, understated and photograph-ready. The second is a statement arrival for the whole bridal party, which is where a white stretch Hummer earns its place: it carries the group together, keeps everyone relaxed between locations, and makes an entrance at the reception.

Many couples book both — a classic car for the ceremony arrival and a larger vehicle for the bridal party and the run to the reception. Because our fleet is all owned in-house, we can coordinate two vehicles on the same booking without involving a second company.

Key considerations: multiple pickups, buffer time built into the schedule, and a chauffeur who coordinates with your photographer.

School formals

Formals are about arriving together and being seen. A stretch Hummer with lighting and sound is the classic choice — it fits a full group of friends, and the arrival at the venue is part of the night. For smaller groups, a stretch limousine or a luxury SUV works well.

For formals, parents care most about safety and reliability: an accredited chauffeur, a fixed schedule, supervised drop-off at the venue, and a car that is exactly what was booked. Formal season runs September to November and books out early, so a Saturday in that window needs to be locked in months ahead.

Hens nights

A pink Hummer is the obvious pick and it is popular for a reason — it fits a large group, the interior is set up for a party, and BYO is welcome on board. It works for a winery run, a night in the city, or a progressive dinner. Book the date as early as you can; the pink Hummer is one of the first vehicles to go on weekends.

Bucks nights and birthdays

For a bucks night or a milestone birthday — an 18th, a 21st, a 30th — the black Hummer 6x6 is the headline vehicle: it seats a large group and nothing else on the road looks like it. For a smaller group or a more restrained night, a stretch limousine or the Chrysler does the job.

These bookings are usually about keeping a group together across several venues without anyone having to drive or navigate. Give us the rough plan and we will build the route.

Corporate travel

Corporate work is the opposite end of the fleet. For client entertainment, executive airport transfers or a night at the theatre, the BMW X5M or the Mercedes G-Wagon gives you a discreet, high-end arrival without the spectacle. For a larger group — a client roadshow or a team dinner — the Mercedes Sprinter carries everyone in comfort.

Corporate clients tend to value the same things: punctuality, a professionally presented chauffeur, and a single point of contact who knows the booking. Because we run our own fleet and drivers, that point of contact does not change on the day.

Winery tours

For a Yarra Valley or Mornington Peninsula winery tour, the vehicle depends on the group. A smaller group travels well in the BMW X5M or the G-Wagon; a larger group is better in the Sprinter or the Hummer 6x6, which has the room for a full day out. The point of a chauffeured winery tour is that nobody drives on country roads after tasting — we depart from your door and return you home.

Common Questions

Can I hire two vehicles for one wedding?

Yes — a classic car for the ceremony arrival and a larger vehicle for the bridal party is a common combination. Because our whole fleet is owned in-house, we coordinate both on a single booking.

Which vehicle is best for a corporate event?

For executive travel and client entertainment, the BMW X5M or Mercedes G-Wagon gives a discreet, high-end arrival. For a group, the Mercedes Sprinter carries everyone comfortably. The Hummers are better suited to formals, hens nights and birthdays.

What is the best limo for a large group?

For a big group that wants to travel together, the stretch Hummers and the Black Hummer 6x6 are built for it, with room, sound and party lighting. Tell us your numbers and we will match you to a vehicle with the space to do it comfortably.
