Wedding Car Ribbon and Decorations: What to Know

Wedding Car Ribbon and Decorations: What to Know

Most couples want the wedding car dressed, and most of it is straightforward. Here is what comes as standard, what you can add, and the few things that will earn you a cleaning or damage charge.

What's usually included

A Mayfair wedding booking includes wedding ribbon on the car — the traditional V from the bonnet to the wing mirrors, in white or a colour to match your theme if you let us know in advance. A red carpet on arrival is standard too. The car is presented clean and polished for the day.

What you can add

Fresh or silk flowers on the bonnet or the parcel shelf are fine — many couples arrange these through their florist to match the bouquets, and the florist fits them on the morning. A "Just Married" sign that hangs or clips on, tulle, and tasteful window decals that peel off cleanly are all welcome. Just let us know what you are planning so the chauffeur can help fit it.

What to avoid

Anything with a permanent adhesive — stick-on letters, spray "paint" (even the washable kind), shaving foam, or tape on the paintwork — can mark the finish and will attract a cleaning or damage charge. Tin cans dragged from the bumper are a nice tradition but check with us first, as they can scratch. Confetti and rice inside the car make a mess that a quick vacuum will not fix; do the throwing outside.
