Private Day Tour

Phillip Island Private Tour from Melbourne

The coast, the wildlife and the penguins at sunset — then straight home in your own car.

Phillip Island is about two hours south-east of Melbourne, and its famous moment comes at the end of the day: the little penguins coming ashore at sunset. That timing is exactly why a private car helps. Instead of a coach that leaves on its schedule, your chauffeur takes you down at your pace, waits through the parade and drives you straight home. Any car in our fleet can do it — send us your date and our booking manager will quote.

How the day usually runs

Most trips leave Melbourne in the early afternoon, with stops on the way or on the island — the coastline at the Nobbies, the beaches, a winery or a chocolate stop — before the penguin parade at sunset. Because sunset moves through the year, the start time does too; we plan it around your parade time. It is a late finish, so the drive home in a comfortable car with someone else driving is the part people appreciate most.

Penguin parade tickets are booked directly with Phillip Island Nature Parks. Book them first, then send us the time.

Which car

It is a long round trip with a late finish, so comfort matters. Families with sleepy children and groups of friends usually take the Mercedes Sprinter, which seats thirteen; couples tend to prefer the quieter G-Wagon. Whatever you choose from the fleet, nobody has to drive the dark roads home after the parade.

Booking

Once you have your parade tickets, let us know the date and session, where you are staying and how many are coming. Use the booking form, WhatsApp or 0470 555 667, and our booking manager will plan the departure time backwards from sunset and quote the trip. Other ideas: private day tours from Melbourne.
